11/8/2023 0 Comments Hogwarts legacy online![]() ![]() In fact, I'd take that over an MMO any day! But it still makes no sense why they would add extra monetization when you have to buy the game to begin with.Īll the arguments on this page seem to be against MMOs, (which I wholeheartedly agree with,) rather than actual disagreement with multiplayer as a whole, (which I completely disagree with). There's nothing wrong with wanting to have an adventure with a loved one. Couch co-op or by invite-only is perfectly fine, similarly to how Pokemon works, (more specifically, almost exactly how My Time At Sandrock or Animal Crossing work). You're not wrong, but I also err on the side of thinking that would make 0 sense because multiplayer =/= MMO. These same people that want this game would lose their mind when the inherent monetization took over the game if it was multiplayer. I wouldn't make a mmo on hoghwarts tho, it's too small imo. So knowing all that i'm not completly against a HP mmo but it has to forget all the things you mentionned. But overall the gameplay is good tbh, if you want a game where no job is completly useless, you'll enjoy it. I do agree that the game gameplay gets "watered down", some jobs became a lot easier and more convenient over the years (looking at the tanks losing their "dps stance" haha). Sure it's not the best story ever, but i enjoyed it a lot, it's my main reason to play. The begining is classic for sure but it gets better at the 1rst expantion, the 2nd is a bit dissapointing, but 3rd and 4th are amazing for an mmo. Now i didn't try many other mmo but the story from FFXIV could be used to make a solid solo game focused mostly on story. The store for the game is just for cosmetics or boosts to get close to max lvl, but nothing will guive you a big advantage, no lootbox as well. It's litterally a mmo for solo players, the main story can be done with almost no grinding (if you keep the same job tho) and don't have to reroll at all. I really hope that other mmos take example from FFXIV. Couldn't bring myself to finish it even after being excited after announcement and after paying 60 bucks for it. I would try to do one quest or side quest per session to try to slowly finish it over a long time, but every time you load it up it complies shaders for 10 minutes. It still has performance issues after half a year even on a pretty good pc. The main story starts of well, but as soon as you enter hogwarts it dies on the spot, every quest is a fetchquest, there's so much dialogues and it's all badly voice acted your character being the main culprit of ♥♥♥♥ internal monologue about stuff you've figured out before taking the quest on.Īll-in-all, it's not the worst game ever made, but at best it's a 5/10, extremely mid with alot of annoying ♥♥♥♥ packed in. Every other step you have to cast revelio to check for collectibles or gear or puzzles so again, it's just a chore and you're not really exploring and finding stuff, you're just making a mental map of what places you forgot to cast revelio in. ![]() ![]() The castle is nice, but you can't really see it since the camera is stuck on your shoulder like a parrot. ![]() Nothing is up front, you need up to 10 click to get anything done from checking quests, teleporting on the map, setting way points etc. Switching gear is a 30-40s job, up to a minute if you want to switch transmog and you get new and better gear every other step. Every click is followed by 2-3 seconds of animation. The puzzles are awfull too (for the most part) Amazing how anybody thought it was fun or an actual challenge while testing or during development. You don't need to do it anyway because all you need is one spell of each color to be able to deal with all types of shield, even on hard the fights are a breeze until you get ganged up by alot of targets, and with no way to deal with multiple guys at once at that point it becomes a chore of dodging for a long time until you get one little window of barely damaging one guy. Combat is dull and repetitive and despite this they still chose to limit you to 4 magic slots/loadout, you have a total of 4 loadouts but switching between them during a fight with controller is clunky and slow. Gameplay is boring at best and frustrating at worst. Incredibly boring, designed by suits video game. ![]()
